Amos Tamam

I always enjoy reading about people who have a successful career that they worked hard on building it from the ground up. Amos Tamam is an individual that has done just that. Mr Tamam trained as an electrical engineer at Tel Aviv University in Israel, when he came to the United States he began servicing taxis at a fleet garage in New York City. Now he is the CEO of Verifone Transportation Systems, Inc.

That is a success story! How did he do it you ask? Amos Tamam possesed great technical ingenuity and a creativity to develope the processes and products to solve problems for fleet owners. Ultimately, the greatest invention was to provide the fleet owners the ability to process credit cards using wireless technology.

This was a bonus for the taxi companies and the people using taxis. It provides a reciept for the passenger and the convienance of not worrying about cash. The benefit for the company is a record of passengers and if a passenger leaves something in the taxi, it can be returned. That is a bonus for both the company and the passenger. Thanks to Amos Tamam and his ingenuity.
